Are Joomla Templates Better than Wordpress Ones?

We are developing Wordpress themes and we enjoy it a lot, as the feedback from users is mostly positive. This has encouraged us to consider putting more efforts into web design for free CMS solutions like Wordpress, Drupal or Joomla. However, browsing the web to see what’s available, we discovered excellent resources for Joomla templates, like this one in the previous link, where you can get free themes and extensions for your Joomla site, and even more that that: a dedicated support team of developers to help you through setting up your website. That’s Joomla Bear, a membership site with fairly affordable rates and even a free membership for those of you who don’t feel like buying before they try.

After seeing several showcase websites, I started to wonder if Joomla layouts are nicer than Wordpress ones. I know the platform actually doesn’t matter, that it’s the web designer who makes the layouts, yet from what I’ve seen so far, lots of authority sites are based on Joomla, especially those which involve interactivity and an online community of members. This is why I’m writing this post: I’m curious what your thoughts are regarding this issue. So, this is the question: are Joomla templates better than Wordpress themes and why.
